The clubs closed.
We opened a garage.
GARAGE CHAMPIONS
An independent electronic music project born during lockdown.

01 / THE BEGINNING
Back from Lisbon.
Into a garage.
When lockdown brought me back from Lisbon, I needed something to build. A former classmate had sound and lighting equipment sitting unused. I had an idea: bring it together and invite some of the Czech electronic scene’s best-known DJs to play.
The first sessions took shape with DJ Samples in a garage. Garage Champions grew from there.
02 / BEYOND THE GARAGE
Different places.
The same energy.
What started as a session between friends became a series featuring artists including Orbith, Lucca, Filip Gehringer, Subgate, Chris Kaufman or DJ Hruša.
As the project grew, we moved beyond the garage — recording sets in a train and a trolleybus, exploring how an unexpected setting could change the experience of a DJ set.
03 / STEPPING BACK
Making it happen.
Making it sustainable.
When clubs and events reopened, the conditions changed. Free-entry events became common, and I couldn’t see a sustainable financial model for taking the project further in the Czech Republic.
I decided to pause Garage Champions and take on a new opportunity. Building it had taught me as much about the realities of independent production as it had about bringing people together through music.
